Qualifications

  • Solid experience in accounts, ideally in a similar senior or standalone role.
  • Strong month-end experience, especially preparing and reviewing P&L accounts.
  • Good all-round understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
  • Highly organised, accurate, and able to work without constant supervision.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to explain numbers in plain English.

Job Title: Senior Accounts Assistant
Location: Rubery
Reports to: Director with support from Commercial Manager

Involve Recruitment(Midlands) Ltd is supporting a growing Manufacturer's in the recruitment of an accounts professional in a standalone role, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities
  • Managing purchase and sales invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and keeping the ledgers up to date.
  • Preparing month-end Profit & Loss accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Keeping track of cash flow and supporting with budgets.
  • Producing VAT returns and making sure we stay compliant.
  • Handling credit control and liaising with suppliers and customers.
  • Providing clear, useful financial information to management.
  • Working closely with external accountants and auditors when needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Someone with solid experience in accounts, ideally in a similar senior or standalone role.
  • Strong month-end experience, especially preparing and reviewing P&L accounts.
  • A good all-round understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
