Senior Accounts Assistant

Jenson Fisher is delighted to be partnering with an established business, located in the Arbroath area, to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant into their expanding finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that financial deadlines are met accurately and on time. Prior experience in a busy finance department is essential.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented. Professional qualifications are not mandatory, but consideration will be given to those who are Part Qualified or planning to start their studies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the production of monthly management accounts.
2. Perform variance analysis.
3. Manage budgets and forecasts.
4. Oversee a small team of Accounts Assistants, providing guidance and mentorship.
5. Resolve accounts queries from internal and external sources, including financial and non-financial issues.
6. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
7. Prepare VAT returns.
8. Perform bank reconciliations.
9. Handle external queries from partners such as Banks, Accountants, and HMRC.
