Amazon is seeking an experienced senior accounting analyst to perform certain accounting activities in APAC accounting team. This position will be responsible for proper and accurate accounting of certain business operations. It is expected the position will actively and frequently engage with other senior leaders in the accounting, finance, tax, technology and operation teams in multiple geographies. This role should have a solid understanding of financial statements, tech backgrounds of finance/accounting related automation projects, excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to business stakeholders, as well as a passion to continuously enhance processes.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage proper accounting of business activities and support month-end financial closing
• Make sure the proper reconciliation of accounts, resolve and close aging items on time
• Work with global and regional business finance team to enforce accounting policies and procedures. Maintain adequate internal controllership.
• Business partnership for new business launch activities.
• Participate or lead ad hoc projects and assignments.
• Identify process improvement opportunity and drive continuously efficiency enhancement
• Support annual audit, work closely with internal and external auditors.
• ERP and accounting system development & implementation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- University degree in business/economics/accounting
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python, Alteryx, BlackLine, etc
- Above 5 years of experience with an emphasis on accounting, preferably, gained within an accounting firm or a medium to large international company, in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience working with IFRS or US GAAP and in the preparation of financial statements
- Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines on critical projects
- Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture
- Fluent in business English, both verbal and written
- Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced company

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications
- Hold CPA or similar credentials
- Experience in project management with exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing
- Strong priority management skills
- Strong communication skills
