Job description

A well-established business who are going through an exciting phase of transformation and investment are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Accountant will lead a small, experienced team.

As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, compliance, treasury, stock, and audit. You’ll manage a team of 5 and play a central role in maintaining accurate reporting and strong internal controls while supporting wider business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the finance team and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Overseeing compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Managing key accounting processes, including reconciliations, fixed asset registers, and debtor/creditor control.
  • Supporting treasury operations, insurance matters, and the preparation of key financial metrics.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Contributing to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives across the business.
  • Promoting a positive working culture, offering support and development to your team.
  • Encouraging continuous improvement and a practical approach to problem-solving.

About You

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a solid grounding in financial controls and reporting. You should have experience managing or mentoring others and enjoy leading a team in a collaborative, hands-on way.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • A calm and organised approach, with attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with colleagues across different parts of the business.
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the day-to-day.
