Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and Corporation Tax Returns, assisting other staff with accounts work and assisting the partners with ad hoc works as required. This role requires a strong background in practice with experience of preparing financial statements from manual records through to final TB in preparation for partners reviews. The Senior Accountant may also play a key role in mentoring junior staff members and enhancing the overall efficiency of the practice.

Duties

  • Prepare accurate financial statements from client records.
  • Prepare Corporation Tax computations and Returns.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on client work.
  • Assist junior staff members.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, AAT) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in practice with a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Experience in mentoring or training junior staff is advantageous.
