Job description

There are many accountancy firms looking for candidates – qualified (or nearly) Semi Seniors looking for that next step to Senior (and beyond), or Senior Accountant looking for (realistic) progression or/and a more motivating workplace– but none are like our client!

Situated in brightly lit (naturally), spacious, modern workplace – with lots of plants and sunlight (well, daylight!) to motivate and harmonise the office, the firm are a small but mighty force in the field of accounting and have engaged our services to recruit to their high calibre team a Senior Accountant.

Their turnover is minuscule – the secret is happy staff – so this is a new post created due to growth, to enable the business to continue to expand without overloading their existing team.

The Senior Accountant will support the Client Manager providing bookkeeping, accounting and tax services of the highest calibre to a select portfolio of businesses. No two days are alike, as the clients are so varied in sector and size.

As an experienced practice accountant, you will (not limited to) –

  • Support Client Managers providing bookkeeping, management accounts, corporate and personal tax returns, VAT and year-end accounts.
  • Manage your workload to ensure budgets and deadlines are met consistently.
  • Use your commercial mindset to maintain awareness of the impact of your activities relating to client service and all that entails (productivity, fee income and recoverability), and further opportunities for the firm.
  • Act with a professional and personable stance on clients’ site when required.

On a personal basis, to align with the firm as whole, you will hold these values and traits along with experience gained in a UK accounting firm –

  • Ambitious – qualified in ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) with a strong desire for personal and professional growth
  • Organised – supreme time keeping, control over work to achieve deadlines.
  • Self-aware – ability to cooperate with team members as well as work independently; take responsibility for your own time and workload
  • Pride – personal and professional, to ensure the highest calibre of work is produced and the teams’ and clients’ best interests are a key objective.

A competitive salary, employee-focused benefits such as hybrid working, and a firm career path are available.
