Job summary

Reed Finance is partnering with a North Oxfordshire SME to recruit a Senior Accountant on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with potential to go permanent. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the finance function across transactional and strategic activities in a multi‑entity environment.

The role requires expert technical accounting, consolidation experience and strong communication with stakeholders. It offers exposure to growth initiatives within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Proven group consolidation experience within an SME or multi‑entity environment.
• Experience producing consolidated financial statements and month‑end close.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities.
• Oversee group consolidation and month‑end reporting.
• Produce quarterly management accounts.
• Own fixed asset records and depreciation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Payroll processing for around 30 employees.
• Oversee day‑to‑day transactional finance activities.
• Develop and improve financial reporting processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Analyze variances and monitor performance against budgets.
• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve profitability.
• Support business planning, investment initiatives and commercial decisions.
• Partner with managers to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Liaise with external accountants regarding statutory reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and reporting.
