We are recruiting a Senior Accountant in the Social Care Finance Department. This is a really exciting opportunity for anyone interested in progressing a career in finance. If you are driven, enthusiastic, and looking for a rewarding working environment, we would love to hear from you.

Role responsibilities:

  • To oversee and manage the Home Care and Direct Payments budgets of £31.5m in Adults Social Care and their key financial processes, including budget setting, in-year monitoring and closure of accounts
  • To ensure significant issues are raised with senior management with recommendations for corrective action.
  • To advise services and managers on self-service, financial governance and delegations and ensure adherence to the Council’s financial regulations.
  • To assist in the provision of professional financial advice and analysis to support the Council’s strategic plans and Medium-Term Financial Strategy process.
  • Provide financial modelling on Home Care when the service is retendered and support the department on the reforms plans within ASC.
