Job summary

Kraken Robotics Inc. in Aberdeen, Scotland is seeking a Senior Accountant to deliver accurate financial accounting, month-end closures, and robust financial control.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and partners with the wider Finance team to maintain integrity of financial information. You will work autonomously to identify issues, resolve accounting matters, and provide reliable insights to stakeholders, supporting statutory accounts, VAT, and tax compliance while driving process

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or actively studying towards a professional qualification.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Proficient with balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Knowledge of UK accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
• Experience working with auditors and supporting statutory reporting.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journals, invoices, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reconciliations.
• Maintain accounts and general ledger records.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Support statutory accounts and year-end reporting.
• Assist with tax and VAT compliance.
• Identify variances and provide explanations to management.
• Support process improvements and system implementations.
• Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Procurement, Payroll, Tax, Operations.
