Senior Accountant (English & French or German speaking)

About the Role

Cobalt is partnered with a fast-growing real estate business in Luxembourg, seeking to hire English and French or German speaking senior accountants to join their corporate accounting teams.

Duties

1. Liaise with property managers to ensure accuracy of all bookings, including reconciliation of rental income to rent rolls, review of all service charge costs and income, and accurate allocation of non-recoverable property costs.
2. Manage day-to-day accounting for PropCos and HoldCos, including bank reconciliations, invoice reviews, monthly accruals, depreciation, etc.
3. Maintain supporting schedules such as accruals for property and entity levels, depreciation, and amortization schedules.
4. Assist in the preparation of periodic VAT returns.
5. Ensure accurate recording of all local, IFRS, and Group GAAP adjustments.
6. Respect periodic closing process timelines.
7. Assist with consolidations and sub-consolidations.
8. Coordinate and assist in the preparation of stand-alone financial statements.
9. Provide intercompany reconciliations and facilitate regular intercompany settlements where applicable.
10. Contribute to the interim and final group audit process and statutory audits when required, ensuring timely completion.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Liaise with Treasury to ensure adequate and consistent funding within different structures.
2. Support asset management with ad hoc financial information and analysis.
3. Monitor operating budgets, liquidity, and cash management for investments.
4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for financial reporting processes and suggest or participate in Yardi system enhancements.

Profile

• University degree in Accounting/Finance (ACCA or equivalent is an asset)
• Minimum 6-7 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in real estate/property accounting required
• Good knowledge of Lux GAAP; IFRS knowledge is an asset
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Fluent in English and proficient in French or German
