As part of strengthening its global Accounting and Finance team, Spire is seeking a Senior Accountant to be based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive and passionate about adding value to Spire through a strong focus on timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting, process documentation and compliance, and a determination to continue to enhance Spire’s scalability.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible individual, a self-starter, eager to learn and with a willingness to pick up a varied range of tasks. The successful candidate will most likely be recently ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified. You will be a valued member of a small, but growing, global Spire accounting team, reporting directly to the EMEA Controller.
You will have the unique opportunity to join a recently publicly listed company, helping to develop and document the new processes required in a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls environment, and providing assistance with a wide range of tasks which will afford you a solid foundation and understanding of the requirements to succeed and develop in a high-performing accounting function.
What You'll Do
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role. If needed, Spire will arrange the necessary licenses; this is not something candidates need to have before applying.
