A reputable accounting firm in Suffolk is seeking a Senior Accountant or Client Manager to assist in creating accounts and tax returns. The role offers client contact, mentorship opportunities, and a supportive work environment. This firm provides a flexible working policy, generous holiday allowance, and progression opportunities for those eager to develop their career.
Are you an experienced Accountant, developing your career in an accountancy practice? Do you want to work for a firm that can offer progression based on merit, will listen to your needs and do what they can to meet them, not make empty promises?
Our client is a highly reputable accounting firm in the heart of Suffolk who have engaged our services to recruit a new team member, as Senior Accountant or Client Manager. The level of the role will reflect your experience and what you seek in terms of responsibility.
The senior partner currently oversees a growing portfolio of c90 clients – no audits – and a similar number of unincorporated clients. They have come to us to recruit an additional member to supplement the existing team, allowing for the senior management to continue to focus on growing the firm without overloading the existing team.
The role of Senior Accountant / Client Manager will assist the senior partner and other senior management with creating accounts and tax returns, either from scratch or first review to completion.
If you wish, you will have immediate and considerable client contact or slowly work up to this, starting with minimal liaison.
Other aspects will include handling general bookkeeping, taxation and accounting queries, occasional CGT submissions, and other general practice responsibilities.
If you seek more responsibilities, you will act as mentor to the trainees on the team, sharing your knowledge for their and the team's benefit.
As well – again this will be entirely upon your preferences – the firm has a growing number of service charge clients of which you are able to work with.
The benefits the firm can offer match that of the big nationals; an attractive flexible working policy (varied start/finish times and working from home), generous holiday allowance (option to buy more days), subsidised parking, as well as other benefits such as company sick pay, pension and more. On top of all that, they provide their team with a warm, encouraging, motivating and supportive environment. Progression is very much available to those who strive to develop to senior level and demonstrate the capabilities.
In return we require specific experience; you must have trained and be experienced in working in an accountancy firm, producing work to UK regulations.
We are open to speaking to those who have trained/qualified in practice, then tried your hand at industry but are now looking to return to the profession (but still current with all the latest rules and regulations).
We would prefer applicants to be fully qualified (ie ACA, ACCA, AAT) but we will consider those with a successful career in practice but not qualified.
Experience with Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, FreshBooks, FreeAgent, CCH will be an added advantage.
