Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting Basildon Borough Council in recruiting a Senior Accountant on a full-time, temporary basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• Developing the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy.
• Creating financial forecast models.
• Preparing the annual General Fund budget for Council Tax setting.
• Preparing statutory final accounts for the General Fund following accounting standards.
• Providing financial guidance and training to Members and Officers.
• Preparing budget control reports for leadership and committees.
• Advising cost center managers on financial matters.
• Maintaining financial management systems, including General Ledger and Purchase Orders.
• Supporting the delivery of the Corporate Transformation Agenda, including monitoring progress against targets.
