Job description

Reed Practice, the specialists in recruitment to the profession, are proud to be working in partnership with a modern, expanding general practice firm to recruit a Senior Accountant or Assistant Accountant, level to reflect the successful applicant.

Reporting to senior management in their Bury St Edmunds office, and working with other high calibre team members, your role as Senior or Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Preparing statutory accounts for a wide range of businesses – sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Involvement – the amount of which will reflect your level of experience – in a variety of business advisory assignments.
  • Creating corporate and personal tax returns; those with more knowledge will assist with tax and wealth planning.
  • Preparing management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Working closely with clients, managing queries, and liaising with senior team members to resolve said queries.
  • As Senior Accountant, managing project teams and reviewing the work of junior team members for the Directors’ final review.

You will enhance your client liaison experience with regular direct contact and be supported in developing your technical knowledge, both in accounts and special projects.

We are looking for those who are part qualified or qualified, with at least two years of experience in a similar role, possess effective communication skills, and are committed to your career in finance.
