Job Description: Senior Accountant – Family Office
Position: Family Office Accountant
Location: Weybridge
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: £100,000
Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Family Office Accountant to manage a variety of accounting and administrative tasks for our family office. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to balance financial and administrative responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone looking to contribute to a dynamic environment, with the potential for progression to a more senior position after the initial contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Tasks:

  1. Transaction Processing:
    Process transactions in Xero, including raising invoices and bills, uploading bank statements, and reconciling cash transactions. Experience with Xero is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. Reporting and Reconciliation:
    Prepare weekly and monthly Excel-based reports, including credit card usage reports, property reports, and other ad hoc reports. Perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Digitisation Project:
    Complete the ongoing digitisation of invoices and documents to enhance efficiency and accessibility.

Administrative Support:

  1. File Maintenance:
    Maintain and organize hardcopy property files, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
  2. General Office Tasks:
    Assist with other general accounting and administrative duties as required.
Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  1. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  2. Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software is advantageous.

Professional Attributes:

  1. Hands-on approach, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
  2. Highly organized, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Education and Experience:

  1. Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
