Sheridan Maine is looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Kent. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio and play a key part in delivering high-quality accounting services.

You will be responsible for managing client relationships, preparing accounts, and supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities as Senior Accountant:

  • Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and VAT returns.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist with client onboarding and practice development initiatives.
The successful Senior Accountant must possess:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and team player mindset.
  • 2+ years of experience in a UK practice.
