Puro Associates is a well-established accountancy practice recruiting a Client Manager to oversee a varied portfolio of SME, contractor and freelance clients from Ferndown. You will review accounts, VAT, and corporation tax, while supporting junior staff and driving service quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA qualification or part-qualified.
• Experience managing a client portfolio.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of clients and serve as main point of contact.
• Review statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Review VAT returns and ensure deadlines are met.
• Support bookkeeping and accounts preparation as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and supervise workflow.

The Role

As Client Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients including SMEs, contractors and freelancers, providing a proactive and professional service across accounts and tax matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact
• Reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
• Reviewing VAT returns and ensuring filing deadlines are met
• Supporting bookkeeping and accounts preparation where required
• Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team
• Attending client meetings and providing business advice
• Assisting with onboarding new clients
• Monitoring workflow and ensuring deadlines are achieved
• Delivering a high standard of client service at all times

About You

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified
• Experience managing a client portfolio
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax
• Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
