Sheridan Maine is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or nearly qualified accountant to take the next step in their career within a supportive and professional environment.

You will manage a portfolio of clients, prepare accounts, and provide guidance to junior team members, while ensuring the highest standards of client service and technical accuracy.

Key responsibilities as senior accountant:

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Handle client queries and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and assist with tax planning.
  • Support audit assignments when required.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with deadlines and regulatory standards.
  • Identify opportunities for additional client support or services.
The successful senior accountant must possess the following:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or finalist with relevant practice experience.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • 2+ years of experience in a UK practice.
