Overview

Job Title: Senior Accountant - Maternity Cover

Department: Finance Controller

Manager/Supervisor: Manager, Accounting International

Location: London (UK)

Position Overview:

Insulet is a high-growth medical device company. The Senior Accountant will support the monthly and quarterly accounting close and financial reporting process of Insulet’s International business. The International region currently consists of EMEA, APAC and the Middle East with customers in the B2B, B2C and medical sector and comprises 15 legal entities and/or branches. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. This role is a fixed period of 14 months (maternity cover).

The Senior Accountant will primarily manage revenue accounting entries and record financial transactions for group reporting and local statutory reporting. He/she will work closely with finance leaders in a fast-paced public company to execute financial operational initiatives, monthly financial reporting and internal control compliance. In this high-growth environment, ongoing development of processes and systems is crucial. The successful candidate should preferably have a track record of identifying and implementing process and systems improvements and will have a thorough understanding of ERP systems.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for the assigned affiliates and areas (mainly revenues) and monitor entries posted by other accounting functions
  • Work closely with various teams to understand revenue processes and stay up to date with recent business developments, ensuring accurate revenue treatment
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly fluctuations in Accounts Receivable and Revenues, and collaborate with FP&A and other partners to understand underlying drivers
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the assigned accounts
  • Assist with review of monthly US GAAP results and preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the US Parent in relation to the 10-Q/K consolidated reporting
  • Support quality and timeliness of internal control requirements for general ledger reporting, including SOX404
  • Support the team in working with external advisors for the preparation and audits of statutory financial statements and supporting notes
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Manager in the review of accounting activities performed by team Accountants
  • Participate in special OTC projects, new system developments testing and ad-hoc reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated accounting experience in a fast-growing environment
  • Strong accounting knowledge, especially related to revenue (US GAAP preferred)
  • Awareness of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation
  • Deadline-driven with high accuracy
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced publicly traded company is a plus
  • Preferably a track record of continuous development of processes and systems
