Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounts and tax affairs of a key client portfolio. The role covers statutory and management accounts, VAT, budgeting, and audits, with mentoring for junior staff.

The successful candidate will have ACA/ACCA or equivalent, strong accounting knowledge, and excellent client communication. Hybrid working available in the Chatham area with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Qualified in ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and tax regulation awareness.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and managing accounts.

Responsibilities

Description

• Prepare and review statutory accounts and management accounts for clients.
• Oversee bookkeeping and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
• Provide expert advice on tax compliance and planning.
• Support clients with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with clients to resolve financial queries and concerns.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on technical accounting matters.

Profile

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and managing accounts.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
