Job summary

A leading medical communications agency is seeking a Senior Account Manager to oversee client relationships and manage multiple accounts. The role requires strong project management and communication skills, as well as a minimum of 2 years' experience in the Medical Communications sector. Candidates should be degree educated and proficient in Microsoft Office. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality work and maintaining budget oversight, while contributing to new business pitches.

Job description: Senior Account Manager
Role

Understand client strategies and utilise commercial acumen to ensure high quality work is delivered for and proposed to clients

Main duties
Client and Account Management
  • To lead client TCs and face-to-face meetings in an efficient and knowledgeable way
  • Acting as main client contact on multiple projects, ensuring time is managed effectively
  • Managing multiple client accounts and taking responsibility for successful delivery of work on those accounts
Processes and Financials
  • Keeps timesheets updated regularly
  • Proficient user of all elements of project management system (e.g. CMAP) to efficiently track project progress, and able to train others in this
  • Proactive monitoring of all project budgets vs actual time spent on and flagging potential issues to AD or Directors as required
  • Manages invoicing schedules for accounts and ensuring pipelines are up to date
  • Keeps up to date knowledge of revenue statuses, pipelines and projections for relevant projects
  • Independently develops budgets and managing account profitability with limited review/supervision required
  • Creates comprehensive timelines for complex projects, including identifying critical deadlines, potential bottlenecks, and resourcing requirements
  • Where possible, performs formal line management duties to a junior staff member; reviewing their performance, setting and monitoring objectives and providing the guidance and input to support their growth and development within the company
Commercial and Scientific acumen
  • Demonstrates detailed understanding of key account content through confident client conversations about current and potential future projects
  • Maintains understanding of strategic direction of allocated accounts by contributing to account planning and business discussions where appropriate
New Business
  • Contributes to pitches and confidently developing proposals for existing clients

Reports to: Account Director or Senior Account Director

Personal requirements
  • Degree educated
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Medical Communications or similar/equivalent agency/pharma sector
  • Proven track record of strong project management and communication skills
  • Experience of effectively managing large projects and working collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in all usual Microsoft Office applications
