Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Senior Account Manager will be responsible for strategically developing the relationship and managing profitability of CML Fulfilment and Logistics key accounts.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.00

Some travel will be required to our CML site in Lutterworth and for customer meetings.

Key Duties of a Senior Account Manager:

  • Manage the commercial relationship and development of specific key clients within the CML network to retain and grow our existing customer base. Draft and agree on Joint Business Plans with clients, drive activity, and monitor performance regularly.
  • Develop communication channels with existing clients to ensure queries are addressed by the appropriate department promptly and accurately.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with all CML departments to efficiently handle customer queries and oversee the implementation of client account strategies.
  • Support the Head of Commercial in contract negotiations and tenders, ensuring operational needs and costs are met while supporting client needs and expectations.
  • Ensure delivery of financial KPIs related to volume, sales, and profit through joint business planning and collaborative forecasting with clients.
  • Work with the Platform Manager to maintain the New Business Pipeline, outline new opportunities, and attract new business.
  • Support and mentor the development of the CML Commercial team through collaboration, sharing best practices, and promoting a team ethos with demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Possess high levels of commercial awareness and an eagle eye to spot and maximize commercial opportunities, effectively 'locking the customer' into CML.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar commercial role.
  • Knowledge of the food industry is desirable.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Able to work using your own initiative at a senior level and as part of a team.
  • Professional, approachable, and helpful when communicating with clients and colleagues.
  • A strong relationship builder who can represent CML effectively to all clients.
  • Efficient time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Strong IT and numerical literacy.
