Overview

LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairnessin law school admission and supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice.

Pay rate: $28 to $30/hr, depending on experience

The Senior Accommodate Testing Associate is responsible for the processing of candidate requests for testing accommodations on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). In coordination with the Manager of Accommodated Testing, the Senior Accommodate Testing Associate will assist in providing direction to other Associates with day-to-day tasks. The Senior Accommodate Testing Associate will work as a liaison with other departments (i.e. Products and Platforms, Candidate Segment), and ensures the department’s technology needs are met. The Senior Accommodate Testing Associate will be an advocate for those with disabilities and communicate across LSAC boundaries to provide stellar customer service. As necessary, this position will also perform the duties of the Disability Associate.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. The individual employed in this position will be required to:

  • Enhance productivity; find and improve inefficiencies in the Accommodated Testing department.
  • Identify system enhancements. Communicate requirements and conduct UAT for changes.
  • Communicate process, technology, and business changes to the department.
  • Advocate for candidates with disabilities across LSAC boundaries.
  • Be a mentor; help staff grow in their career.
  • Assist in the processing of candidate requests for testing accommodations.
  • Serve as a liaison to external professional consultants.
  • Create cover letters and packets for external professional consultants.
  • Post decision letters to candidate accounts to reflect decisions made regarding approval or denial of requests.
  • Data entry and reporting.
  • Prepare written correspondence to candidates and third parties.
  • Communicate by phone and e-mail with candidates and third parties, including outside consultants and test center supervisors. Handle escalated communications from candidates.
  • Communicate regularly with Manager and/or other staff regarding cases and their progress.
  • Develop and implement quality checks. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collect, analyze and report data related to quality checks, including trending over time.
  • Follow appropriate channels when mistakes are found. Identify containment plans.
  • Identify root cause and collaborate with team to implement solutions to prevent occurrence of future defects.
  • Track implementation of improvement action items.
  • Assist in developing SOPs and Job Aids.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties, as assigned.

Competencies

  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work in an accurate and efficient manner.

  • Knowledge of common software applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A. or B.S. degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • College degree in social sciences or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in an office environment with demonstratable knowledge of common software applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have people management responsibilities.

Position Type

The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. As a non-exempt employee, overtime or weekend work may be required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% of travel is required for this position.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularlywrite, read, and communicate effectively.

Special Conditions or Requirements

The ability to work weekends may be required.
