Senior Designer of the Agent Provocateur Collections. Responsible for bringing design direction in line with marketing strategies and business goals ensuring the creative direction of the Agent Provocateur brand under the direction of the Creative Director and the Head of Design.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To design and develop the Agent Provocateur Accessories collections ensuring the creative vision of the brand aiding the creation of a cohesive directional range.
- Interpret the Creative Director’s vision into seasonal and Icon ranges.
- Design into the seasonal fabric selection as directed by the Creative Director / Fabric developer.
- Understanding of the Agent Provocateur brand and history
- Research and produce mood boards, catwalk reports and inspirational material to brief.
- To have a strong eye for aesthetics and visual details to ensure a quality final product.
- Must be able to take a commercial view of ranges in the development stages.
- To manage several projects simultaneously
- Identify, call out and make recommendations to mitigate any risks/challenges identified through all stages.
- Work alongside development and product team on cost development.
- Create packs for the accessories category. Product Briefs and BOMS with concise technical sketches, finishing, construction details and measurements. Ensuring briefing packs fit creative requirements of the business.
- Ensure the delivery of prototypes and samples are on time to development critical paths and quality standards across cost architecture
- Partner to support design team achieving the creative vision through construction and fit with the technical team.
- Attend trade fairs and key accessories suppliers to drive development and keep up to date on the latest developments and fabrications
- Attend Campaign and Ecom shoots/events when required.
- Attend creative meetings sketch reviews, design edits, recolours, range building and fit development.
- Attend buying reviews and strategies for store feedback, sales, market gaps and product requirements when developing for new seasons.
Communication
- Clear communicator, responding promptly and accurately to all enquiries.
- Work closely with design team alongside product development/production teams.
- Work closely with Technical Team on accessory construction and fit
- Co-ordinate and liaise with factories ensuring created product briefs/BOMs are clear, concise and are updated on the system.
- Attend weekly PD/Design meetings. Ensure prepared with all relevant information and action amendments accordingly.
- Populate the business tools and ensure working documents are kept up to date and relevant – including design edits, sign off and partner events.
- Attend sign off or other design presentations.
Operational
- Appropriately source according to type of product (including retail targets) and critical path dates.
- Attend fitting sessions of the ranges responsible for along with Head of Design and Design Development Manager.
- Attend weekly PD/Design meetings. Ensure prepared with all relevant information and action amendments accordingly
- Demonstrate commercial decision making on own developments, with an awareness of cost drivers and margin. Come up with creative solutions that allow designs to make margin while maintaining brand handwriting
- Offer solutions of alternative makings to improve a development look or cost
- Assist on E-commerce and Campaign shoots
Key Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Sound knowledge of hardware and soft accessory construction, finishing, couture construction, componentry, fabrics
- Sound knowledge of leather and jewelry construction, finishing, and componentry
- Working knowledge of 3D design software for enhanced technical design
- Wide interest in new fashion technology
