Job summary

XRC Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist to take components from CAD models through to finished parts on high-spec CNC equipment.

You will work on complex, high-precision components across robotics, defence and advanced engineering, applying tight tolerances, GD&T and 3+2 and full 5-axis strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' experience in CNC programming and machining.
• Highly proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360 CAM, particularly simultaneous 5-axis programming.
• Experience with Haas CNC machines, including their operation, setup and controls.
• Strong understanding of 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis machining strategies.
• Ability to programme, set up and optimise machining processes independently.
• Experience machining complex, high-precision components across a range of materials.
• Confident reading engineering drawings, interpreting GD&T and working to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of tooling, workholding, cutting strategies and cycle-time optimisation.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a strong focus on quality.
