Job summary

Kybera is seeking a Senior Point Cloud Specialist to lead the development, integration and optimisation of our point-cloud-based perception capabilities for real-world industrial environments.

You will work at the intersection of LiDAR, 3D perception, deep learning and real-time autonomous systems, delivering robust pipelines and de-risking new ideas for scalable operations in dynamic industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in point cloud processing, LiDAR SLAM or 3D geometry.
• Strong knowledge of real-time DNN-based point cloud models.
• Deep C++ expertise with Python skills.
• Experience with point cloud registration and large-scale 3D data structures.
• Prototyping skills to test and de-risk new ideas.
• Experience solving perception problems where robustness matters.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical roadmap for point-cloud perception, including classical processing and DNN-based approaches.
• Architect perception pipelines covering detection, segmentation, tracking and occupancy estimation.
• Develop and evaluate modern DNN-based point cloud models (voxel, pillar, BEV, sparse-conv, transformers).
• Design and optimise real-time LiDAR/perception systems for latency, compute and memory.
• Develop preprocessing and feature extraction (filtering, clustering, ground removal, motion compensation).
• Improve perception in occlusion, sparse returns, reflective surfaces and dynamic environments.
• Collaborate with mapping/localisation on point cloud registration and interfaces.
• Prototype and de-risk new approaches for robust, handover-ready solutions.
