About The Role

Senior Learning Support Assistant
Location: Summergil School, Presteigne
Salary: £14.86-£15.76 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week, Term time only (39 weeks)

As a Senior Learning Support Assistant at Summergil School, you'll play a key role in both the educational and personal development of our pupils. Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals, you'll help pupils overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils in the classroom with learning activities and individual plans.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support behaviour management, encouraging positive interactions and social skills.
  • Work with teaching staff to adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Help implement therapy plans and monitor pupil progress.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to reviews.
Requirements:
  • A caring, compassionate nature with the drive to make a difference.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Patience, resilience and flexibility.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • A recognised qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).
