SENDCo – Full Time | Coventry | September 2025 Start
Specialist SEN School

Academics are currently working with a fantastic SEN school in Coventry that is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SENDCo for a full-time role starting in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive school environment that caters for children with high anxiety, specific, mild and moderate learning difficulties and ASD. The age range for this school is 11-19 years (KS3 – KS5).

The school is committed to ensuring that every learner reaches their potential, and the successful candidate will be central to leading and coordinating effective SEND provision across the school.

About the Role:

As SENDCo, you will take the lead on SEND strategy, ensuring that the school remains compliant with the SEND Code of Practice, and that all pupils receive the tailored support they need. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, class teams, external agencies and families to deliver a truly collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee and develop the school’s SEND provision
* Coordinate and manage EHCPs, annual reviews, and referrals
* Support, train and advise staff on inclusive strategies and interventions
* Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals
* Monitor progress and ensure high-quality outcomes for learners with SEND

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or be working towards it
* Proven experience in a SEND leadership role, ideally within a special school
* Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for inclusive education
