Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Wendover is seeking an inspirational SENDCo to lead provision for students with special educational needs. QTS is a requirement for this post, and the role can be offered as full-time or part-time depending on the applicant's preference.

You will work within a Trust that champions inclusive practice, safeguarding, and high standards of learning. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to ensure excellent progress for learners aged 11–19 with ASC and SEMH needs.

Qualifications

  • QTS is a requirement for this post.
  • Experience as SENDCo or an exceptional practitioner looking to progress to SENDCo.
  • Ability to lead SEN provision across a campus and work with senior leaders.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of SEN provision across the campus to ensure excellent student progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching in SEN interventions and their outcomes.
  • Keep SLT and Governing Body informed about SEN practice and legislation.
  • Collaborate with pastoral, attendance and behaviour teams to ensure high-quality SEN provision.

We are rewriting the future for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) through innovative, transformational education. Our award-winning Multi Academy Trust provides cutting-edge, compassionate and personalised learning across our specialist campuses.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational SENDCo to work as part of our team. You may be an experienced SENDCo or an exceptional practitioner looking to further your career as an aspiring SENDCo, Please note QTS is a requirement for this post.

This role can be full time or part time, please state your interest on your application form.

What You Will Do
  • Provide strategic leadership of the provision for students with special educational needs (SEN) across the campus in order to ensure that our students make excellent progress.
    Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching in interventions of students withSEN. Monitor the effectiveness of intervention for students with SEN by outcome.
    Ensure that the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Body are informed aboutcurrent good practice and legislation relating to SEN and inclusion and thatpolicies and practices relating to SEN are up to date.
    Liaise effectively with staff across the campus, including pastoral, attendance andbehaviour support teams, to ensure high quality provision for students with SEN.
