We are recruiting for an experienced Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENDCo)
to join us in opening a new school for autistic children and young people (opening September 2025).

What will Aspris Ridgeway look like?
- It will be a centre of autism expertise and excellence, educating up to 60 pupils aged 7-19 with identified autism needs and in receipt of an EHCP.
- A welcoming environment with clearly defined specialist therapy and teaching areas, staffed and resourced to meet complex needs.
- Strong leadership and governance.
- Opportunities that engage young people in appropriate learning, achieving outstanding progress.
- A highly individualised, therapeutic curriculum that prepares pupils with lifelong skills.
Initially, the school will open with Y5 and Y6 pupils. We are seeking outstanding primary teachers to join us on this exciting journey.
Main Duties
- Undertaking the role of SENCo for all statutory purposes, including Annual Reviews.
- Monitoring the quality of SEN support through effective systems to identify and meet student needs.
- Ensuring effective communication systems, including feedback about student learning to inform planning.
- Timetabling support and interventions for students with SEN, considering resources and individual needs, and updating timetables and provision maps throughout the year.
- Analyzing and tracking student progress using assessments, data, and records.
- Holding regular meetings to evaluate the progress of students with special needs.
- Providing training and support for staff working with students with SEN, including ASD, PDA, and ADHD.
- Acting as the Designated Teacher for CLA, attending PEPs and reviews, and recording relevant data.
