Job description

Creative & Compassionate Educators Wanted: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Focus

  • Specialist 1:1 SEN Tutors
  • Location:Leicester
  • Hours: Part-time, flexible (typically during the school day)
  • Salary:£25-£30 per hour (DOE)

At Randstad Tuition Services, we do education differently

We support young people who don't thrive in traditional classrooms - often because the system hasn't recognized their unique needs (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, trauma-related barriers). We believe every child has something special to offer, and we need specialists ready to unlock that potential.

We're looking for SEN professionals, therapeutic mentors, and qualified teachers ready to reimagine what teaching can be.

Who You Are

You are not just a teacher; you are a therapeutic specialist who thrives in complex settings:

  • SEN Expertise is Essential
  • A qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or specialist with a proven background in supporting complex SEN, SEMH, and trauma-informed education.
  • Behavioral Specialist:Highly skilled in de-escalation techniques, emotion coaching, and managing challenging behaviours to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
  • Relationship-First:Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and able to build the crucial trust required to engage learners who have experienced school avoidance (EOTAS, AP).
  • Creative and Adaptive: You tailor sessions to specific EHCP targets, utilizing visual aids, movement, and multisensory strategies rather than relying solely on traditional curriculum methods.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver 1:1 or small group therapeutic tuition across core subjects, ensuring the approach is trauma-informed and relationship-first.
  • Plan engaging, relevant sessions that meet learners where they are-academically and emotionally-focusing on executive functioning, self-regulation, and confidence.
  • Work closely with Randstad's team to track learner progress on key non-academic KPIs (e.g., confidence, attendance, reduced anxiety) that matter to commissioning bodies.
  • Help young people reconnect with the idea that they can learn, fostering engagement by leveraging their unique interests (e.g., sports, art, vocational skills).

Why Join Us?

  • Make a Significant Impact: Support learners on the margins of mainstream education, helping them navigate complex emotional and learning barriers.
  • Work Flexibly:Choose hours and locations that fit your life.
  • Specialist Community:Access CPD and community-we support your growth as a human-centered, specialist educator.
