Kings College Guildford is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join our vibrant SEND department. The role focuses on short- and small-group tutoring within The Hub, delivering targeted lessons for students with EHCPs, and supporting KS3/KS4 pupils to access GCSEs or Functional Skills.

The post offers a part-time, fixed-term contract of 1 year, with safeguarding as a core priority and opportunities for professional development within an ambitious Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
• Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsabilités

• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons within The Hub at the school which provides 1:1 and small group support for students struggling to attend mainstream lessons.
• Design lessons to meet students needs many of which have EHCPs.
• Deliver lessons for children in KS3 + KS4 who are typically working below age related norms. Support KS4 students with tutoring to support access to GCSEs or where decided Functional Skills.
• Foster a supportive and inspiring learning environment that nurtures a lifelong love for English and Maths.
• Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to support their development
• Contribute to curriculum planning and extra-curricular activities
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the SEND Department and link with the English and Maths department to provide consistent teaching where relevant for children out of mainstream lessons.
