Job description

Permanent position: Tutor (SEND Special Educational Needs)

Location: Doncaster DN12
Salary: £32,752 per year
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established educational institution for a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join their team. Due to an increase in student numbers and the expansion of their curriculum, the college is looking for an enthusiastic individual to teach and support students aged 18-25 with Autism, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge.

About the Role
As a Tutor, you will be responsible for creating an engaging, practical, and student-centered learning environment. You will support students in developing key life skills, preparing them for adulthood, successful integration into care or supported living environments, and helping them become active members of their local community. This role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives by helping them achieve their personal and academic goals.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver a varied curriculum that promotes the development of independence skills and the potential for work experience. Your creativity and ability to connect students with community resources and opportunities will be vital to their success.

About You
To be successful in this position, you should have relevant teaching qualifications and experience in working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). A strong understanding of how to support students with complex needs and behaviours, as well as experience in delivering education that meets the targets outlined in Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), is essential.

This is a small, close-knit team, so the ability to teach across a range of subjects and collaborate with colleagues in care and clinical services is important. You will also liaise with parents, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure the best outcomes for the students.

Please note that this is a term-time-only role, with annual leave to be taken during the 12-week college holiday periods.

Additional Information
To be considered for this role, you must have a solid background working with SEND students.
