Job summary

AP Education is seeking a Tutor (Alternative Provision) in Gloucester to support learners with SEND and SEMH needs. You will teach core subjects or SEND-specific sessions, applying a therapeutic, adaptable approach and collecting progress data.

The role offers flexible, term-time hours (typically 15 or 30 hours per week) with guaranteed weekly pay and access to tailored learning platforms. DBS enhanced disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH.
• UK experience welcomed; two years with or without formal qualifications.
• QTS or HLTA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver core subjects (Maths, English, Science) or SEND-specific
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies
• Provide a therapeutic and adaptable approach to education
• Perform baseline academic and emotional assessments
• Prepare progress reports and liaise with external professionals
• Manage attendance reporting and support transitions to other settings
