Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with Durham Local Authority to provide tuition to a young person with severe Special Education Needs. This individual is currently on a waiting list for a specialist placement, you will be acting as their alternative education provision. This individual is 12 years old, located in Spennymoor. The young person has a variety of conditions, including Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay and a variety of associated neurodiversity & mental health conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, empathetic tutor to utilise their skills & make a meaningful difference in the lives of a vulnerable individual.

Tuition is commissioned for 10 hours per week, usually split into five sessions of 2 hours. We can build up your timetable to accommodate either full or part time hours. Pay rate varies between GBP25 & GBP30 per hour depending on if you have Qualified Teacher Status.

What we expect from you

As part of your role, you will be expected to:

· Build a rapport with the young person
· Tailor lessons to their needs
· Mark sessional attendance
· Complete weekly reports
· Complete an Individual Learning Plan

What we need from you:

· Hold the right to work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
· Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
· The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
