Job summary

A local educational support organization in Runcorn is seeking a SEND Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for a Primary-aged pupil with SEMH and ASD. Flexibility is key, with hours based around your availability. Ideal candidates will have experience with special needs students and possess a teaching qualification or strong tutoring background. This role offers competitive pay of £25-30 per hour and the opportunity to work outside of a traditional classroom environment.

Overview

Thrive Education works alongside Local Authorities and Virtual Schools to provide education and support to mainstream and SEND students from Primary to secondary age. We are currently looking for a SEND Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a Primary aged pupil with SEMH and ASD. This role will be based in a local community centre, working up to 10 hours per week. Thrive Education works around your availability to provide you with as many students as your availability allows. We have tuition based in schools, children's homes, community centres and local libraries.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering a variety of subjects to students with various special needs
  • Providing weekly reports based on students attendance and progression
  • Liaising with local authorities and virtual schools to provide updates on students sessions
  • Support students with their mental health and their transitions back into school
Requirements
  • Previously experience working with students with special needs is essential
  • Teaching qualification or strong background in tutoring
  • Patience and resilience
