Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Part Time SEN Tutor in Harlow to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner. Sessions may take place at the learner's home, in local libraries, youth centres or other community locations outside mainstream education.

Ideal candidates have QTS/QLTS/PGCE (EYFS or equivalent) and at least 6 months UK school experience; safeguarding training is desirable. Hours are flexible (1 to 3 hours per session) and start date is ASAP.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 SEN tuition to a learner in Harlow.

Part Time SEN Tutor - Harlow

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Harlow.

The students you may encounter may be not be in mainstream education for a variety of reasons. The students may need tuition in English, Maths, Science or Functional Skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or teacher who is confident adapting lessons to suit individual needs and can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have experienced barriers to education. Often the successful candidate would be required to conduct lessons in the young person's home, in local council libraries, youth centres or other locations outside of the mainstream learning environment.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Harlow
• Position - SEN Tutor
• Type of work - Contract
• Start date - ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration - dependent on each student

• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £25 per hour. The hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

To be eligible for the Part Time 1:1 SEN Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
