Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEND Tutor to provide one-to-one support for pupils in Levenshulme. Ideal candidates will have experience with additional needs and a passion for helping students thrive.
SEND Tutor - Levenshulme (M19)
Flexible, one-to-one support for pupils who need it most.
Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their potential? We're looking for experienced and compassionate tutors to work one-to-one with pupils in the Levenshulme (M19) area who are currently not in mainstream education.
This is a rewarding role where you can provide focused, tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEND), including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Tuition takes place during the school day, often in a local library or community space, or occasionally in the pupil's home.
For many of these pupils, mainstream school simply isn't the right fit right now - and your calm, individual approach can make a huge difference to their progress and confidence.
About the role:
Deliver 1:1 tuition in core subjects, especially English and Maths, based on the pupil's needs and ability
Adapt your teaching style to support pupils with SEND or SEMH challenges
Build trust and engagement through consistency, routine, and patience
Plan creative, flexible sessions that help build confidence and key skills
Work independently while being supported by a dedicated team
Who this would suit:
We're open to qualified teachers, experienced tutors, teaching assistants or youth workers who have supported pupils with SEND or behavioural needs. You don't need to be a specialist - just someone who understands that progress isn't always linear and that connection is just as important as content.
You're likely a great fit if you:
Have experience supporting children with additional or complex needs
Can confidently lead tailored, engaging sessions for learners working at primary or early secondary level
Are patient, reliable, and able to work 1:1 without direct supervision
Are happy to work in-person in the Levenshulme area
Hold (or are willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS on the update service
What we offer:
£25-£30 per hour, depending on experience
Flexible hours between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday
Weekly pay via PAYE
A supportive consultant who'll help match you to suitable pupils
Opportunities for CPD and professional development
A chance to make a long-lasting impact in your local community
This is more than tuition - it's about helping young people feel seen, supported, and successful. If you're ready to take on a fulfilling role that offers real flexibility and purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV, and we'll be in touch to discuss the next steps
