Could you be a SEND Tutor at Sense College?
We’re looking for a passionate and creative SEND teacher to join our professional team as a Special Education Needs and Disability Tutor at our College Centre based in Bedford. We welcome applications from experienced SEND teachers as well as those seeking development opportunities.
The successful applicants will work with a small group of students aged 16-25 with various learning, sensory, and physical disabilities. You will develop individual learning plans based on thorough assessments and outcomes outlined in the students' Education, Health and Care Plans. Your responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, assessing and reporting on student progress. The SEND Tutor will lead a classroom team, employing specialist teaching approaches and resources, and will supervise and coach learning support staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning. You will be part of a broader team of SEND Tutors, sharing best practices and supporting each other professionally. Sense is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners, and all staff are expected to adhere to the DfE's 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' guidelines and Safer Recruitment practices.
