WeDo Social Work is seeking an experienced SEND Tribunals Case Officer for an interim assignment. The role centers on coordinating and progressing SEND Tribunal cases, ensuring deadlines are met and families receive timely, effective support.

The ideal candidate will have SEND Tribunal case management experience, strong knowledge of SEND legislation and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across education, social care and legal teams in a remote interim setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and progress SEND Tribunal cases to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Manage caseload of SEND Tribunal appeals.
  • Coordinate responses to Tribunal directions and deadlines.
  • Prepare and collate evidence and documentation.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, young people, schools and professionals.
  • Work with SEND, education, legal and social care teams.
  • Support the preparation of Tribunal bundles and case statements.
  • Monitor case progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and guidance.
  • Identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.

SEND Tribunals Case Officer – Interim Opportunity

Location: Remote
Contract: Interim / Temporary

WeDo Social Work is currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Tribunals Case Officer to join a busy SEND service on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience of SEND Tribunal appeals, EHCPs and case management who can confidently manage complex cases, tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders.

The Role

As a SEND Tribunals Case Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating and progressing SEND Tribunal cases, ensuring that statutory deadlines are met and that children, young people and families receive an effective and timely service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of SEND Tribunal appeals
  • Coordinating responses to Tribunal directions and deadlines
  • Preparing and collating evidence and documentation
  • Liaising with parents, carers, young people, schools, legal representatives and professionals
  • Working closely with SEND, education, legal and social care teams
  • Supporting the preparation of Tribunal bundles and case statements
  • Monitoring case progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring all work is compliant with relevant SEND legislation, regulations and statutory guidance
  • Identifying potential areas of risk and escalating issues appropriately
  • Supporting effective communication and resolution throughout the Tribunal process
About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience managing SEND Tribunal cases or appeals
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the EHCP process
  • Excellent case-management and organisational skills
  • Experience working to statutory deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage sensitive and complex situations professionally
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple professional teams
  • Local authority SEND experience is highly desirable
