Job summary

Simply Education Ltd are recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant at a brand-new specialist secondary school in Horsham to start in September 2026. The role supports autistic students aged 11-16 in a calm environment with small classes and personalised learning.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to support students in and out of the classroom, helping with learning, building confidence and encouraging independence.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND
  • Genuine interest in supporting autistic young people
  • Patient, reliable and a good team player
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Responsibilities

  • Support learning and activities for students in and out of the classroom
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to support individual needs
  • Assist with enrichment activities, outdoor learning and educational visits
  • Help create a calm, supportive learning environment and promote independence
