SEND Teaching Assistant – SLD, SLCN & Behaviour Support – Selly Oak Location: Warwickshire & West Midlands Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with a range of additional needs across schools in this area.

The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist children with learning, communication, behaviour, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to deliver inclusive learning opportunities.
  • Use strategies and tools appropriate to the need (e.g., visual aids, social stories, sensory tools).
  • Build positive and trusting relationships to encourage confidence and independence.
About You:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND such as Autism (ASD/ASC), SEMH (Social emotional mental health), SLD (severe learning difficulties), PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties), SLCN (speech and language), or physical needs depending on the role focus.
  • Patient, resilient, and able to adapt to different needs and behaviours.
  • A team player who communicates effectively with staff and families.
  • Passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential in an inclusive setting.
