SEND Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield, S36
Rate: £100 per day
Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Temp - perm
Working hours: Monday to Friday, term time only, 8:30–3:30

Unique School Solutions are supporting a wonderful primary school in the S36 area of Sheffield to recruit a specialist Teaching Assistant to work within a newly founded specialist learning environment within the school. The unit supports primary aged pupils with complex needs and speech and language difficulties. Although initially this role will be long-term temporary, there is the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate with the school following a successful probation period.

The Role
  • Working with EYFS/primary aged children with SEND as required under the instruction and guidance of the class teacher
  • Ensuring the safety of children

Essential Requirements
  • Previous and recent experience working with EYFS/Primary aged SEND children in a school environment
  • Experience of working with non verbal children

  • The ability to work with other support staff
  • The ability to support small groups with learning
