Job description

Axcis is on the search for an experienced SEND teaching assistant, a teaching assistant with experience of working in school and supporting young children with high SEND needs an who has the learning and personal development of the pupils at the heart of their practice. The role is based within the resource hub of a 2-form entry primary school in the Saltley area. In the role the successful applicant will be supporting children aged 4-7 years with varying SEND needs within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. This is a full-time role on an ongoing basis, the school is looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for a teaching assistant looking for a school with a strong community spirit. This is a vacancy for the 2025/26 academic year, starting in September 2025 and going through to July 2026, working on a full-time basis Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30. Job details: • Supporting pupils with high SEND needs • Supporting children develop through the EYFS • Working on a one to one and small group basis within a resource hub class of 4-7 year olds • Working alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants • Full time (8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday) • Ongoing basis starting ASAP; going through to the end of the academic year and picking up again in September Requirements • Experience of working with individuals with SEND needs – Essential • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or we’re able to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential • Minimum of 2 good references – Essential • Experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework - Desirable INDMID
