Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (ongoing and long-term opportunities)

Salary: £13.68-£15.00, dependent on experience and qualifications

Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dedicated team within a specialist SEND school in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support that helps pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs)
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
• Providing 1:1 and small group interventions when required
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
• Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting with personal care needs

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working in an SEND setting is highly desirable
• A caring, patient, and resilient approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
