SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Oldbury, Birmingham B69
Day Rate: (Apply online only)
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

Are you a patient and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming Oldbury primary school? Join a friendly and inclusive team supporting pupils with additional needs to thrive in their learning and development.

This long-term opportunity is perfect for someone experienced in supporting children with special educational needs in EYFS or Key Stage 1. You'll play a vital part in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and succeed in the classroom.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, including autism and speech & language needs
  • Assisting the class teacher with tailored lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Using strategies and resources to support behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Supporting personal care needs where necessary

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEN
  • Is calm, consistent, and able to follow routines and support plans
  • Can work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals
  • Has a genuine passion for helping children succeed
  • Holds a relevant qualification or has school-based experience
