Job summary

Leigh Academy Bearsted is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with communication and interaction difficulties across Early Years and Year 1. The role involves tailored support, scaffolding techniques, and collaboration with class teachers to enable full inclusion.

The successful candidate will have strong English and Mathematics, experience with EYFS/KS1 SEND, and the ability to work 1:1 or in small groups.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in EYFS and KS1 with children with SEN.
• Experience supporting pre-verbal / Gestalt Language Processors; AAC experience preferred.
• Able to work 1:1 and in small groups with personal care when needed.
• High standards in spoken and written English and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to meet each child’s needs using scaffolding techniques.
• Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver interventions.
• Deliver targeted interventions and adapt activities for individual learning needs.
• Maintain effective behaviour management and communicate with children and adults.
