Job Description:

Axcis is seeking passionate teaching assistants to support students with SEMH/ASD at a higher education institution in Staffordshire. The role involves providing tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including community-based activities. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing one-to-one support to students with SEMH and ASD.
  2. Using effective behaviour management techniques.
  3. Acting as a liaison between students, staff, and support services.
  4. Helping develop social skills and independent learning strategies.
  5. Monitoring and tracking students' progress and providing feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Experience working with SEMH and/or ASD in educational settings.
  2. Experience in FE environment, such as College or University.
  3. Level 2 or above qualification in Education, Psychology, or related fields (desirable).
  4. Understanding of SEMH/ASD challenges and passion for support.
  5. Knowledge of safeguarding and student welfare.
  6. Interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  8. Patience and respect for diverse backgrounds.
  9. Flexibility to adapt to needs.

Pay rate starts at £95.29 per day.
