Clapgate Primary School seeks a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs. The role requires a Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification, a positive and energetic attitude, and a commitment to outdoor learning. This is a temporary role for term time only.

We are looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide one to one support and small group support, to enable children to access Year 1 classrooms and build their independence.

Temporary to: 31 August 2026 in the first instance
The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification and some experience of working with children with complex SEND needs.
Previous experience is desired, however not essential. Applicants will need to be enthusiastic, energetic and have the ability to implement consistent boundaries. They will be able to build positive relationships, working closely with staff and parents to share detailed information regarding the child’s day to day activities and health needs.
Being outdoors is strongly embedded in our ethos. You will need to be willing to spend a large amount of time outdoors during children’s play. Undertaking Paediatric First Aid will be essential for this role once appointed.
