At Shaftesbury Park Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and commitment to nurturing every child to thrive . We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, working in our Nurture Room — a safe, structured space where children with additional needs receive tailored emotional and academic support to help them access learning and build confidence .

About the Role:

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils with complex needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD).
  • Help pupils regulate emotions, develop social skills and achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teachers, therapists and families.
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
  • Contribute to a warm, supportive and respectful environment where every child is seen, valued and celebrated.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or other complex needs.
  • Is patient, nurturing and resilient, with a calm and consistent approach.
  • Understands trauma-informed and therapeutic practices, or is eager to learn.
  • Is a proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Believes that all children can succeed with the right support.
